SEXUAL HEALTH
GROUP PLC
(“Sexual Health Group” or “the
Company”)
SEXUAL HEALTH GROUP SUPPLIES CONDOMANIA CONDOMS
TO GENERAL MEDICAL CLINICS NEW LIVERPOOL ST
CENTRE
The Board of Sexual Health Group, a national
supplier of sexual health products to customers
including the NHS, is pleased to announce it
is now supplying Condomania condoms to General
Medical Clinics PLC (“General Medical
Clinics”). General Medical Clinics is
a private company with four centres in the
City of London offering care and advice on
a number of general medical issues including
women and men’s health, sexual health,
drugs, alcohol, stress and contraception, as
well as physiotherapy, psychiatry and, dermatology
General Medical Clinics’ centres in
Fleet Street, Finsbury Circus and Tower Hill
mainly see private clients, (corporate banks,
financiers and law firms), who fund the service
for their staff. The central location of the
clinics is beneficial for both the companies
and their employees who can visit the clinics
conveniently without having to take time-off
work to visit their local GP. Members of the
public are also able to use these clinics;
there is an individual membership scheme available
for them.
In October 2005 General Medical Clinics secured
a five-year contract with the NHS to open a
walk-in centre near Liverpool Street station
to extend free services to the general public
(NHS patients). The centre provides a new avenue
for Sexual Health Group’s Condomania
brand, which currently supplies condoms to
the NHS, to supply condoms to the Liverpool
Street clinic. Condoms will be given to patients
in an effort to further promote sexual health
in the community. This further secures Sexual
Health Group’s presence within the NHS
and creates an opportunity for the Company
to eventually supply other sexual health related
products to the General Medical Clinic’s
clinics.
Jerry Appleyard, Managing Director of General
Medical Clinics, said today: “The opening
of the NHS walk-in centre is an exciting step
for General Medical Clinics. We feel it’s
important to offer quality health care and
advice free of charge, and the central location
is another means of making such services more
accessible to the general public and, in this
case, city professionals. Joining forces with
the NHS has also introduced us to Sexual Health
Group. We look forward to working together
as the Company supplies Condomania condoms
to our Liverpool Street Station walk in centre,
and may look to use them as a supplier to our
other clinics in the near future.”
Commenting today, Sexual Health Group Chief
Executive, George Sutherland, said: “We
are delighted to have the opportunity to supply
General Medical Clinics. The walk-in centre
in Liverpool Street offers the public the ideal
location to access free
condoms and sexual health advice. We look
forward to building a long term relationship
with General Medical Clinics and hope to
extend our presence in other centres too.”
